Are any of your kids having a birthday this summer? Why pay all that money to go somewhere else, when you can just host a pool party right in your backyard. With a few small details, you can arrange an awesome party for your child and all their friends.
Decide how many kids you want to entertain. You can invite your whole class, or your can just invite a few close friends. Go with whatever makes you most comfortable. There is no rule about who you can invite and who you shouldn’t invite.
Hit up the local dollar store or the party store and stock up on paper plates, napkins, utensils and more. With lots of kids around, you may want to add a few extra rolls of paper towels to your shopping list. You never know when a spill might occur.
Make a plan for food. Getting pizza delivered makes things very easy because you won’t have to cook and you won’t have to go pick something up. You can choose to do a whole meal, or just have snacks. Offer something healthy like fruit and veggies to offset the cake you are planning to feed to the kids.
Many local supermarkets will decorate a cake for you for a small extra charge. Or you can bake one yourself and save yourself some money. You can go with a traditional cake, cupcakes, an ice cream cake, or mix it up and have an ice cream sundae bar. Buy all the toppings you can think of and encourage the kids to decorate their own bowl.
Check The Pool
Be sure the pool is properly maintained before the party. You’ll want to be sure the chemicals are balanced and the pool is vacuumed. Be careful of kids putting food, plates and other items in the pool. It could cause some serious damage to your filter system. Keeping the food away from the pool area might help.
